Custom Fields allow you to gather and store specific data points about your contacts that go beyond the default fields in DOJODIGI. Custom fields allow businesses to gather specific information to qualify leads, such as whether they are a seller or a buyer in the real estate industry(example). Whether it’s a customer’s favorite product, their birthday, or any other relevant detail, Custom Fields ensure you have all the information you need to build stronger relationships.

After setting them up, custom fields can be filled manually during a call with a lead or through forms and surveys, providing flexibility in gathering information.

  • Custom fields for contacts(CRM):
    Fields for contacts will be attached to the contact and can be utilised in areas like conversations, smart contact management, emails, automations & workflows, etc.

    • Custom Fields allow you to collect and organize specific information about your contacts that goes beyond the default fields provided by DOJODIGI. This customized approach ensures that you have all the details needed to personalize your interactions and provide exceptional customer service.

  • How to display important data in your contacts tab with custom fields:

  • In the contacts tab, click on columns. A drop down menu will appear. Scroll down to find your custom fields. Check off the information you want shown on your contacts dashboard. This customisation feature allows your business to run efficiently by displaying information most crtitcal to you!

    • Contact information will also display the custom field data and can be edited in the contacts tab

    Fields for opportunities will be visible in the pipeline stages and will mainly be utilised there and in automation & workflows.

  • Eg) I created a custom field to allow me to segment my opportunities by deal priority. I can select it and filter out only deals where priority is labelled as high to show on the pipeline dashboard

    Custom fields can be selected and applied in filters for triggers and actions mostly in triggers and actions relating to contacts, opportunities(sales & pipeline) and forms.

    Example usage:

    I created a custom field for a form for customers to indicate their interest in specific services. If a customer selects our premium or most expensive product, I want to ensure this deal is prioritized.

    Using workflow automation, I can trigger an action based on the customer's selection in the custom field. This action moves the customer's contact into a high-priority stage in my pipeline, utilizing another custom field for opportunities. Additionally, an internal notification is sent to my sales team to alert them of the high-priority lead.

How to Set Up Custom Fields:

  • Head to settings

  • Scroll down to "custom fields"

  • Access your existing custom fields here(some are pre-set by DOJODIGI), edit them and add new ones

    • Folders help organise and catagorise your custom fields

    • Click on the deleted folder to view and restore deleted fields

  • Create a New Field: Click on the "Add Custom Field" button.

  • Select the type of field (more info on this in the following section) and click "next"

  • Field Name: Enter a name for the custom field (e.g., "Favorite Product").

  • Field Object Type: Select between contact or opportunity

  • Save Field: Click "Save" to add the custom field to your contact records.

Once created, these custom fields will appear in the contact or pipeline(opportunity) records, allowing you to input and store relevant information.

Types of custom fields:

We provide different types of custom fields. The following table gives a brief description of each type and some possible use cases.

Custom Values: Convenience & Simplicity

Custom Values are dynamic placeholders that allow you to insert specific pieces of information into your communications and automation workflows effortlessly.

  • Each custom value has a key and an associated value. When a custom value key is placed, the final product will always show its associated value.

  • So instead of having to manually input the values, just select the custom value key. This is great for repeated texts like legal messages, logos, etc.

  • Any changes made to the value of the custom key will automatically be propagated across all its placements, eliminating the need for manual editing on every placement

  • Custom values are tied not to individual contacts but to your company and account on DOJODIGI. They can be utilised in your DOJODIGI sites, funnels, automations etc

Example Usage:

I set up a custom value for the legal wording across my websites, pages, and funnels(eg copyright mybrand 2024). If I have to change my legal wording, manually editing each page, site, or funnel would be very time consuming. However, thanks to the custom value I've configured, I can make the alteration once in my custom value settings, and it will seamlessly edit the legal wording across all my sites and funnels that i have implemented the custom value on.

How to set up custom values:

  • Head to settings and navigate to "custom values"

  • Click on "create custom value"

  • Create your custom value.

  • NOTE: The name is the name for this value and the value is what will show up when the custom value key is placed.

  • You will now see your created custom value

    So for this example, each time this custom value key is placed, the final message or product will always show "[email protected]"

  • Following is an example of this custom value used in an email

    • Instead of typing the email, simply hit the + icon and scroll to custom values and select the appropriate value.

Editing Custom Values:

  • To edit custom values, head to settings and navigate to the custom values tab. Click on the 3 vertical dot icon for the appropriate custom value and click "edit".
